During the walk, he did not utter a word, and only knocked his staff all the blades of grass that rose above the others. On his return to the palace of the dictator he said that he's told and the boy may return to his father. So the story brought to us one of the first leadership styles used sometimes today. Leadership style -a stable system of techniques, methods and forms of practice management, as well as his complex personality traits, manifested in relations with subordinates.

All clear whether these definitions? Translated into the language of a philistine, it is people management techniques + the personal characteristics of the manager and managed.

management style has a significant impact on the efficiency of production and people management.

The question of leadership style was considered by Kurt Lewin (Annex 2)in the 30s of the 20th century. He singled styles: authoritarian, democratic, liberal.

The object of study of Levin were 10-year-old boys, who were divided into several groups. Each group was a team headed by an adult leader who professes autocratic (authoritarian), or liberal democratic leadership styles.

Listen to a brief description of leadership styles (values are presented inshow 1):

  1. Authoritarian StyleManagement consists in the fact that all power is in the head, all decisions are made by him personally, without taking into account the views of subordinates. In this case, a command and control. Authoritarian management style needed in a crisis situation, when decisions must be made quickly and be well coordinated, which greatly hampered in terms of collective efforts to develop solutions.

2.Demokratichesky styleIt involves the delegation of the head of their powers to a subordinate and peer acceptance on the basis of decisions. It is relevant in a stable work of the enterprise and the pursuit of innovation.

3.Liberalny styleis a control without the participation of the head. Workers are left to themselves, have to rely on their discipline.

on the conversation:Who prefer an authoritarian style?

Who opted for a democratic style?

Who gave a very liberal style?

Who does not chose a style?

The group is divided into subgroups:1. autocrats. 2. Democrats. 3. Liberals. 4. Doubters.

For objective evaluation of each evaluation sheet is used.

Q: This is what style? (Authoritarian).

Adam Smith(Annex 6) Was of the opinion that in order to raise the state with the lowest stage of barbarism to the highest level of well-being, we need only peace, easy taxes, and tolerance in the management; everything else will make the natural course of things.

That is Adam Smith advocated _________ (for liberal style).

Word of the teacher:In life, it is difficult to meet the representatives of these types in a pure form. Too complex human nature, that it can be fit under the definition of standards. However, each manager tends to be a particular way of working. Optimal by itself can not be the one of the main or even the intermediate leadership styles.

Output:Style of work has to be dynamic, changing depending on the situations and facilities management (liberal - arts, authoritarian - the army). Therefore, the ability to lead - the ability to master different styles, changing leadership styles, to develop an individual style. An effective leader is the one manager who is able to identify and take the kind of leadership that best suits the company's policy, its general objectives, the traditional style and values, scope, structure and working methods.
