Methodical recommendation

on performance and protection of course work (project) in the organizations of secondary professional education

These Guidelines are developed in accordance with the Rules of organization of secondary vocational education institutions, approved by the order of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 4, 2001 No. 539, registered in the Ministry of justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 10, 2001 No. 1621.
Methodological recommendations are developed for secondary vocational schools, which provide for the implementation of course work (project) in accordance with the state General education standards of education in the specialty.
Methodical recommendations determine the order of execution and organization of protection of course work (project) by students of secondary professional educational institutions.
Execution of course work (project) is one of the forms of intermediate control of independent creative work of students in the implementation of educational programs in General education and special disciplines.
Execution of course work (project) to be carried out in order to:
systematization and consolidation of the obtained theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the specialty and their application in solving the issues;
development at students of independent creative work, and also abilities to practical application of theoretical knowledge for the solution of questions of production and technical character.
The number of course works( projects), the name of the disciplines in which they are provided, as well as the amount of study time for their implementation, is determined by the state compulsory standard of education. If the state compulsory standards of education do not provide for the implementation of coursework (projects), the number, name of disciplines, as well as training time for their implementation, is determined by the organization of education. For the entire period of training, it is allowed to perform no more than three coursework (projects) in the disciplines of General professional and special cycles.
Course work (project) can become a section of the future thesis (project).
Course work (project) is carried out in the terms defined by the working curriculum of the organization of education in the specialty.
The subjects of course works (projects) are developed and considered by the relevant subject (cycle) commissions, which determine the list of final topics, and approved by the Deputy Director for educational work of the organization of education.
Topics of coursework (projects) should correspond to the recommended topics of coursework (projects) specified in the standard and training programs of special disciplines.

Students are given the right to choose a course work (project), subject to justification of its feasibility, which is associated with the program of professional practice of the student, and for correspondence students - with their direct professional activities.
Upon submission of the relevant subject (cycle) commissions by the order of the head of the organization the head of course works (projects) is appointed.
The head of the course work (project) conducts explanatory and Advisory work with students:
on development of the plan of performance and definition of the contents of the explanatory note of course work (project);
to meet the requirements for the graphic part of the course work (project);
on the optimal allocation of time to perform individual sections of the course work (project).
The schedule of consultations is made during the course work (project) due to the amount of training time allocated for consultations on the curriculum.
According to the content of the course work (project)can be abstract, practical, design, technological or experimental. The volume of the course work (project) should be at least 15-20 pages of printed text or 20-25 pages of handwritten text.
In the course of work:
- abstract nature-in addition to the disclosure of the content of the main sections, it is necessary to pay attention to the theoretical part of the work, which should be raised and resolved the issues to be studied, the level of development of problems in theory and practice;

- practical nature-it is necessary to focus on the implementation of theoretical and practical sections, which are represented by calculations, graphs, tables, diagrams;

- experimental character-except theoretical section, it is necessary to pay the greatest attention to the practical part of work containing the plan of carrying out experiment, the characteristic of methods of experimental work, validity of the chosen method, processing and the analysis of results of experimental work.

The structure of the course work (project) consists of an explanatory note, graphic and practical parts.
The explanatory note includes the basic calculations and a summary of the technological process of project work.

The volume of the explanatory note of the course project should be at least.3 pages of printed text, the graphic part is performed in pencil on 1-2 sheets of drawing paper Al, A2, AZ in compliance with the established requirements of standards for drawing.
The explanatory Memorandum of the course work (project) of design in nature, in addition to the main sections should include: the part that contains the necessary calculations; a narrative that contains a description of constructions and working principle of the designed products; the organizational - economic part containing the economic substantiation of expediency of coursework (project).
Explanatory note of the course work (project) of a technological nature, includes, in addition to the main sections: description of the production technology (manufacturing unit or part), which is developed for the technological process; description of the designed tooling, fixtures.
The practical part of the course work (project) as a design and technological nature can be represented by drawings, diagrams, diagrams, graphs, products and products of creative activity.
Upon completion of the student's course work (project), the head checks it and together with a written review sends the student for review.
Acceptance, verification and preparation of a written review of the course work (project) is carried out by the head of the course work (project) outside the schedule of training sessions.

Term papers (projects) are protected and carried out according to the schedule approved by the Deputy Director for educational work not later than two weeks before the beginning of winter and summer sessions.
At the request of the student, the protection of the course work (project) can be carried out in the state and Russian languages.
Coursework (project) is evaluated on a five-point system. Assessment "excellent" in the discipline in which the course work (project) is performed is exhibited only if the successful completion of the course work (project) for an assessment not lower than the assessment "good".
The student who received an unsatisfactory grade on the course work (project):
- it is not allowed to pass the final control of knowledge in this discipline;

- the right to choose a new topic is granted or the revision of the previous course work (project) is allowed by the decision of the relevant subject (cycle) Commission.

Protection of course work (project) is accepted by the Commission from among teachers by the decision of the corresponding subject (cyclic) Commission.
Completed and accepted by students coursework (projects) are stored in the archive of the institution for a period of one year. At the end of this period, all coursework (projects) are written off under the act and destroyed.
The best term papers (projects) of educational and methodological value are stored in the relevant subject (cycle) commissions and are used as teaching AIDS in educational institutions.
The questions provided by these Methodical recommendations are regulated by the educational organizations independently.
